Hanging With Brother Sam

Hello, all.

While enjoying myself at The Loony Bin in Tulsa this week, I stopped off and paid my respects at the grave of Sam Kinison.

I was almost nineteen when Kinison died, and I can say without a doubt that he influenced the young kid I was who later became the comedian I am.  His energy, his approach, and–yes–his balls to stand on stage and speak as he did were all unique.  So many of us still haven’t caught up with him.

If you’re too young to remember or have seen Sam Kinison, seek out clips and watch him.  He was truly an original voice in stand-up comedy.  A legend.

It seemed appropriate that I pay respects to the man, after all these years.  Thanks, Sam.
